What happened to October?
I can't believe it's already November...what happened to October? In looking back a lot happened in October, swimming lessons, Chase's 1st birthday and Halloween - so let's get started.
Chase started swimming lessons at the beginning of the month; we go every Saturday for 30 minutes. He is enjoying it even though we start every session with a scream fest for the first few minutes. Once he decides to calm down he likes to put his head under the water and kick his feet. He also enjoys jumping (well more like falling) off the side.
Last week at swimming lessons I had an "Oh, I'm that mom" moment. Chase wears a rash guard in the pool, I guess it has to do with the fact that my family goes to Lake Powell every year and to help prevent a rash from the life jackets all the little ones wear a rash guard. Anyway, our friends who are in the class with us asked why Chase wears it in the pool and I said, "Because he has sensitive skin” my poor child...
Chase is now 1 years old. I can't believe it.
With Tyler working in Florida for most of the month we ended up celebrating Chase's birthday with Mickey and friends. Chase and I were able to fly down for a long weekend over his birthday. Chase was a real trooper, we spent the first day at the Animal Kingdom, where we watch the Pocahontas show, Nemo the musical and went on an African Safari. That same night we met up with Tyler at the Epcot center where we walked the world and watched the fireworks.
We spent the next day at the Magic Kingdom, Chase feel asleep before we entered the park so Tyler had a chance to go on Space Mountain (the only adult ride of the trip). Once the little one woke up we went on Buzz Light Year, the Tea Cups, It's a Small World and basically any ride that Chase could go on. But the highlight of the trip had to be when Chase saw Mickey, he just look at him with amazement. He had a huge smile on his face and gave Mickey a hug. It made it all worth it. (We are ordering pictures from Disney, so I'll post it at a later date)
Chase even received balloons and a birthday card from Winnie the Pooh, it was a great way to celebrate his first birthday. I'm not sure what we will do next year.
Today is Halloween. Here are some pictures of Chase as a lion and of this friend Morgan the elephant.
