He's on the move

Well, we had our first snow of the season this morning and it was beautiful. I love how peaceful everything seems right after the snowfall, and although it was freezing as we walked to church, it truly is beginning to feel like the Holiday season.

Here's an updated on the last couple of weeks. Work for me (Minde) was crazy in November; as we were preparing for our annual Benefit Dinner and Auction which happened on Monday, November 19th. The event went off without a hitch. I got off early on Wednesday and decided to take Chase down to see the balloons for the Thanksgiving parade, but on our way there he fell asleep in the stroller and missed the whole thing.

We flew out on Thanksgiving morning to spend the Holiday with Tyler's family in Michigan; it was great to see everyone. Let’s just say it was a much-needed vacation. Of course, Chase loved all the space to walk around, he did laps around the house non-stop. Thanks to Nana, he also learned how to go up the stairs, which quickly became his favorite thing to do. After just one time up the stairs he decided he could conquer it by himself. We were all in the kitchen talking and all-of-the sudden Chase was gone and no where to be found. I found him at the top of the stairs grinning from ear-to-ear, he was very proud of himself, and I was totally panicked. After that, we kept even a closer eye on him since he doesn't know how to come down; we'll tackle that I my parent’s house at Christmas.

While we were there, we also were able to web cam with Tyler's brother and his family in Germany. Isn't technology great!!!

Now that Chase is on the move we just had to take a small video, since he walks like Frankenstein. Isn't he cute?

This past Friday, Chase and I met up with my Aunt Suzy, who was in town on business, and walked around Lincoln Square, Central Park and Fifth Avenue. Although it was cold, we had a great time and Chase was a little trooper. That night we met up with Tyler and my cousin's Rachel and Gonz (who live in NJ) for dinner down in Chelsea. We had a great time catching up with everyone. We are looking forward to having Tyler's brother and his family in town this week along with my brother in-law and his mother.

He's walking

This past week I decided to take Chase down to Babies "R" Us for his 1 year pictures at Kiddie Kandids. Lets just say I had high expectations, but quickly learned that with an active one year old you just hope for at least one good picture. I wasn't terribly impressed with the pictures, but I did end up buying a couple, simply because it was his one year pictures. Hope when we take pictures over the Holidays with his cousins we will have better results.

The biggest news this week is Chase took his first steps. It was on Thursday, the young women were coming to my house for an activity. As I was getting everything ready, one of the girls said “look” and there Chase was walking across the room, I couldn’t believe it. He has been practicing all weekend and his getting pretty good as you can see.

On Saturday, we had one of Tyler’s friends met us in the park to take some family pictures for our Christmas card, and again Chase wasn’t in the mood to take pictures. We are hopeful that a couple work out. (To be posted later)

We had Stake conference this weekend. On Saturday, while the guys were at Priesthood leadership, Beth, Ashley and I (the moms’) decided to get a babysitter and have a “girls night out”. Thanks to one of the young women who was willing to watch all three of our little boys. We had a great time walking around the upper west side and going out to dinner. We will defiantly be doing this again.

What happened to October?

I can't believe it's already November...what happened to October? In looking back a lot happened in October, swimming lessons, Chase's 1st birthday and Halloween - so let's get started.

Chase started swimming lessons at the beginning of the month; we go every Saturday for 30 minutes. He is enjoying it even though we start every session with a scream fest for the first few minutes. Once he decides to calm down he likes to put his head under the water and kick his feet. He also enjoys jumping (well more like falling) off the side.

Last week at swimming lessons I had an "Oh, I'm that mom" moment. Chase wears a rash guard in the pool, I guess it has to do with the fact that my family goes to Lake Powell every year and to help prevent a rash from the life jackets all the little ones wear a rash guard. Anyway, our friends who are in the class with us asked why Chase wears it in the pool and I said, "Because he has sensitive skin” my poor child...

Chase is now 1 years old. I can't believe it.

With Tyler working in Florida for most of the month we ended up celebrating Chase's birthday with Mickey and friends. Chase and I were able to fly down for a long weekend over his birthday. Chase was a real trooper, we spent the first day at the Animal Kingdom, where we watch the Pocahontas show, Nemo the musical and went on an African Safari. That same night we met up with Tyler at the Epcot center where we walked the world and watched the fireworks.

We spent the next day at the Magic Kingdom, Chase feel asleep before we entered the park so Tyler had a chance to go on Space Mountain (the only adult ride of the trip). Once the little one woke up we went on Buzz Light Year, the Tea Cups, It's a Small World and basically any ride that Chase could go on. But the highlight of the trip had to be when Chase saw Mickey, he just look at him with amazement. He had a huge smile on his face and gave Mickey a hug. It made it all worth it. (We are ordering pictures from Disney, so I'll post it at a later date)

Chase even received balloons and a birthday card from Winnie the Pooh, it was a great way to celebrate his first birthday. I'm not sure what we will do next year.

Today is Halloween. Here are some pictures of Chase as a lion and of this friend Morgan the elephant.

UT, Goshen and back again

So it's been a couple weeks, but I'm back...lets take a look at what’s been happening.

Chase and I were in UT 2 weekends ago. Chase loved all the space to crawl and walk around at grandmas house, he even managed to slide down the stairs. We spent the weekend hanging out with family and enjoying a short break away from the City. We were also able to see the news member of your family, my older sister's little girl Hailey who is now three weeks old. She is adorable.

Let just say that flying now is a little more difficult given that Chase is mobile, but we did get some walking practice in on both flights. He is now crawling on all fours and loves to be on the go ALL the time. I can't believe he is going to be one in 10 days.

I spent this past weekend with the youth up in Goshen, NY planning our activities for the next year. We had a great turn out and were able to plan some great activities. Dad and Chase were able to spend some quality time together while mom was away.

We are getting ready to send Tyler off to Disney World for two weeks, don't worry he'll be working the entire time with his new client. Chase and I are planning to join him for a long weekend to celebrate Chase's 1st birthday.

Here are some new hair style's for Chase, what do you think?
